This handsome, intricately detailed stein celebrates the homegrown history of basketball, in exquisite detail. Various elements of the game are represented by motifs around the stein.
Mimicking the texture of the game ball, the pewter lid captures some of the main features essential to playing basketball~the player (here taking a shot). The basket and the backboard and the goal post are designed as the handle.
The interior of the stein's lid depicts the court layout plus the new and old style balls used to play the game past and present. The body of the stein includes a portrayal of the first basketball game held at YMCA, James, the game's inventor, stands nearby.
This stein is dated and numbered and comes packed in the original box.
